Abstract
Myasthenia gravis (MG) and neuromyelitis optica (NMO) are relatively rare autoimmune diseases. There were a few reports that the incidence of NMO appeared higher in patients with MG than in patients without MG. The coexistence of MG and NMO suggests a common immunological pathogenesis. A thymectomy may plays a vital role in the development of NMO in MG patients. We report a case of NMO occurred in a thymectomized MG.
